A Switch Flipped
That is what we are saying about Eloise. Since this past weekend Eloise is walking and not stopping, waving and saying bye bye, clapping, and eating like a champ. She even imitates us when we are talking to her. It really is like a switch has been turned on in her tiny little head. It is so much fun to watch her learn and do new things.
Her social worker from Early On was over on Monday and was speechless when she saw Eloise walk and she continued to walk for the entire hour she was here. She could not believe the progress. We were just at group the Tuesday prior and she was not even taking two or three steps. Eloise also waved bye to her. It was so amazing for her to see Eloise make so much progress in such a short amount of time. We do have an appointment at the Gerber Center for Infant Development and Nutrition on May 24th. This was a result of her last well baby check up when she wasn't do any of the things above. I talked with the social worker about this appointment and she said the doctor we are seeing, Dr. Dodge, is a great doctor and she highly recommends that we keep this appointment. She will thoroughly evaluate Eloise all on levels from motor, neurological, speech, feeding and more and decide if she needs any additional resources. So until then we will continue to watch Eloise learn and discover more each new day.
