Easter Weekend 2012

Friday night Easter Egg Coloring

We tried something new this year.  I blew all the yolks out of the eggs so they were hollow and then washed them.  This way we could leave the eggs out and not have to refrigerate them.  I also can find more uses for raw eggs than for a few dozen hard boiled eggs.  The only problem we had was the the eggs did not sink into the dye so we had to hold them down.  I was planning on also painting the outsides but we ran out of time.

Playing outside on Saturday.

Easter Egg hunt Saturday morning at the church on the corner of Leonard and Perkins.  We walked up there and then Trey's family met us there to watch the girls do the hunt.

Eloise was so funny.  She completely understood what she was suppose to do expect she was collecting the eggs in her hands and then walking over to her bucket to drop them in.  We finally got her to walk around with the bucket and put them in.  I quick made this bucket 10 minutes before we were about to leave out of a meijer ice cream container, some left over fabric and spray adhesive.

They also had a few games for the kids.

Cecelia did pretty good.

We celebrated Easter at our house with the Jaarsma family and the Kennedy family (Lisa's immediate family).

Later on Sunday Trey's family came over to do an Easter Egg hunt with the kids outside.

Eloise discovered there was candy inside the eggs and started opening every egg she found.
