Great Wolf Lodge

Last Sunday we left after church and head to Traverse City to spend two days and nights at the Great Wolf Lodge. We arrived around 4pm, checked in, dropped our luggage in our rooms and then headed to the water park The girls had a blast. Cecelia loved the water tower with red and yellow slides, lazy river, lilly pad crossing and even the kiddie pool slides. Eloise spend most of her time in the kiddie pool slides, the lazy river and the hot tub. There were only two incidents while we were there both involving Eloise. One was a simple scrape on the legs/knees from the kiddie pool that required a little first aid and a band-aide The second one I thought we were going to be the family to shut the water park down. Trey had brought Eloise up to the water tower to go down the red slide. He wasn't allowed to go down with her but she could go by herself. She had a life jacket on and I was waiting at the bottom while Trey sent her down. A few minutes passed and she still had not come out the bottom. The attendant said that some of the lighter kids take awhile to get all the way down. Well a few more minutes passed and still not Eloise. The life guard signaled to the attend to stop the ride and called a supervisor over. The supervisor ended up walking up the slide from the bottom and found her about 2/3rd of the way down the slide just sitting there. I think she put her hands and feet out and stopped herself from going down. She came out with a smile on her face and did not look a bit scared but never the less we did not go down the big slides again.

Unfortunately it took a few more times up the stairs and a bribe to make cookies when we got home if she tried it before Cecelia actually went down the slide with daddy. Once she did she liked it and gave it more more go.

Not only did she get stuck on the big slides but she could not get all the way down the little slides. I guess she was too light for the water to push her all the way down.
