8 Years

Yesterday was our 8 year anniversary. Time sure does go by fast. With our busy schedule and now having Cecelia we decided to do dinner at home. We are going away this weekend with friends for a wine tour so we are counting that as our anniversary getaway. It was a very nice evening as we sat for about two hours eating and talking. I asked Trey if he every imaged this is where we would be in life 8 years ago. He said he figured we would be settled down and starting a family but not doing the type of work we each are doing now. I totally agreed with him. After talking a lot about what the last 8 years have brought we came to the conclusion that our life is a prime example that you can not try to plan life so why waste the time and energy doing so. We both agreed that we want to spend the next year enjoying everything we are blessed with already and to get comfortable in our lives. We tend to be the type of people that are always looking for the next big challenge or adventure and never really enjoying what we have in front of us. We have been so blessed in our lives and we tend to forget that. So that is our anniversary resolution, to live in the now and not try to plan the future.

Happy Anniversary! The gorgeous weather yesterday was exactly like the day of your wedding, although maybe a bit cooler. I still remember how perfect and beautiful it was that day!

I know what you're saying too about living life in the moment and not always planning ahead. I think those of us who are planning, organizing, motivated types of people have a hard time learning to just BE. To live a little slower, to recognize all of our blessings, to be content and not be on to the next big "thing". Something I'm working on too!
