Finally Home

We brought Eloise home today!! Yeah. Trey and I stayed overnight at the hospital last night and had Eloise all to ourselves. It was a good trial to get us ready for what lies ahead for us. Since she is still so small we have to feed Elie every three hours even if that means waking her up. She also gets .75ml of caffeine in the morning and .5ml of a multivitamin twice a day in her bottles. Her bottles are also fortified with Neosure infant formula to add calories to her breast milk. We were trained on the monitor that will keep track of Eloise's heart rate and respiration. In two weeks the company that supplies the monitor will come to the house and download the information which will then be sent to Spectrum Hospital to be read and dictated then sent to our pediatrician. They will come out again two weeks after that and then a month later. It is up to the pediatrician to decide when to take her off caffeine and then off the monitor. We were told by the NICU that the standard practice is to be on caffeine and the monitor for a month and then just the monitor for another month. Our pediatrician stopped by this morning to visit and we are going to see him in the office on Wednesday morning.
Eloise and I were home for the day by ourselves while Cecelia was at my parents house for the day and Trey went and saw some patients. It was a nice adjustment for me to be able to spend some time with just Eloise. Cecelia was very cute when she got home and saw Elie. She gave her kisses and even held her. Trey will be off from work from Wednesday through the weekend which will be very nice.
