8 Months Old
Eloise turned 8 months old yesterday. Her weight is 14lbs 10oz and she is 26in long. I am amazed at how she is constantly changing. She sits up very well now. She still doesn't know how to get out of sitting so she either ends up falling to the floor or crying when she is tired of sitting. Just yesterday I tried her standing at a toy and she did it for a few seconds by herself. She has very strong legs and prefers to stand which causes her to have difficultly learning to crawl. She doesn't like to bend her knees or hips which is very much needed to learn to crawl. We are working on this. I don't foresee her crawling anytime soon. She does move across the floor very well though by either rolling or her preferred method of scooching on her back. As soon as she is placed on her back she arches up and pushes her head to the floor and uses her legs to push her across the floor head first. She is starting to wear out a spot of hair on the back of her head. She has also started picking up objects and transferring them from one hand to another. We watch her watching her hands as she opens and closes them. She has finally discovered her feet and loves to grab her toes, especially while having her diaper changes which makes this task a little difficult. She is eating much better and has 1-2 solid meals a day. I have not found anything that she won't eat yet. Her bottle feeding is pretty consistent at around 4-6oz bottle a day. She gabs quite a bit and is starting to try to make consonant sounds. I have been working with her on saying momma and she does put her lips together to try to imitate me. It is very cute. She is very smiley and we believe that she knows she is cute and uses it to her advantage for attention:)
