Trick or Treat

The first weekend of October Trey's parents were camping at River Ridge campground up north about an hour in Stanwood. Every year the campground does a Halloween weekend where the camper decorate their campsites and the kids can go around trick or treating. We decided to bring the girls up for the day on Saturday. Cecelia had so much fun. The day started with a pumpkin race where all the pumpkins were in the back of a trailer and then were rolled down the road to see which one would go the farthest. After the race everyone took their pumpkins to the top of a big hill, watched a giant pumpkin roll down and then rolled all the rest of the pumpkins down followed by the stomping of the pumpkins. After all the pumpkins rolled down Cecelia decided to roll herself down the hill. We then went back to the camper for some breakfast and to warm up a bit. The weather was a bit cool with the strong wind. Next came craft time. We took Cecelia up to the main building to do some crafts. We choose to decorate a bag for her to use while trick or treating. After crafts we headed back to the trailer for a rest time. Cecelia was exhausted and slept right through the costume parade but woke just in time for a Halloween dinner and to get dressed for trick or treating. It was a great time walking around with Cecelia and pushing Eloise in the stroller. Cecelia was a little confused by the concept of trick or treating at first. She didn't understand why people were putting candy in her bag but she definitely didn't try to stop them. There are around 300 campsites and they were 80% full so there was a lot of trick or treating to do. We didn't get around to all the sites but Cecelia (and mom and dad) made out really well with candy.
