Summer Vacation to Brevoort Lake and Mackinac Island

Having decided to reschedule our vacation for July 4th weekend due to Eloise being sick, we left for the Upper Peninsula on the afternoon of Wednesday the 20th.  My dad has a cabin he built in Moran on Brevoort Lake.  We headed their first to spend the night and all day Thursday.  The kids had a great time boating and swimming. Friday morning we got up and ready and headed to St. Ignace for a ferry ride over to the Mackinac Island.  We had reservation at the Murray hotel for Friday night.  We did a carriage tour on Friday, walked through the Fort, played in the pool at the hotel and then headed off for a nice dinner at the Pink Pony before hitting the bed.  Saturday morning we relaxed and went down for breakfast before packing up and going out for the day.  After leaving the hotel we walked around town, Cecelia rode a pony, kids played on the playground, took some pictures, had lunch and then got back on the ferry.  Saturday night we went back to the cabin for the night and had a restful morning before packing up to go home.  We took a nice long leisurely ride home stopping in Mackinaw City to walk around and shop.  We arrive back home just after supper time.  Although it was hot in the U.P. we were glad to have missed the extremely hot and humid weather at home.

Cecelia gets a pony ride.  After the ride that is all she could talk about for the rest of the day and how she wanted a pony.

Sisterly Love.  This was the best picture we could get.
