Prayer Requests

I have two prayer requests.

One if for a friend of mine that is having a difficult pregnancy and she is only 11 weeks into it.

The other request is for Trey. He just received notice today that he has been identified in a lawsuit against Bronson Hospital. We knew that the lawsuit was a possibility since the plaintiff filed a notice back in February and had until August to file the suit. We thought that is might just go away but found out today that it is not going to. Trey worked at Bronson's outpatient therapy site as a traveler when we moved back from Arizona. The patient is suing the hospital stating that due to treatment he received from a therapist named "Trey" he has since suffered damage to his back that had caused him to be permanently disabled. Trey has talked to every therapist he knows to make sure he didn't do anything wrong and everyone of them has assured him that his treatment was totally acceptable for this patients diagnosis. He knows in his mind that he did nothing wrong but things like this can make you doubt everything you do from now on out. I am sure that anyone in the health field can understand what he is feeling. This is every health professionals worse nightmare. We are lucky right now that the suit was filed against Bronson at this point and not directly at Trey. Since he was working for CompHealth, the traveling company, at the time of the incident they have given him a lawyer to defend him. If this goes to court I am sure he will have to testify. The suit states that they want a trial in front of a jury. The lawyer had stated before that if this goes to a suit is will most likely be settle out of court by the hospital giving the patient a settlement. We pray that this is the case and that is does not go any farther than that. It is just frustrating how our legal system works and how people can just sue anytime they want money and don't want to take responsibility for their own actions.

Thanks

I didn't know about the lawsuit yet...thanks for letting us know. Being in health care myself, I can totally relate to this - not only how crazy people are about suing over the littlest things, but also feeling like people are always questioning your care and being so quick to place blame on others. Our pediatric intensivists are in court all the time, because no one wants their child to die....and when it happens, it's a normal feeling to want to blame someone - but thankfully, most times the child's care followed all the right standards and there are plenty of people who can testify to that. I'm sure the hospital will back Trey up too - and they'll be much more happy to settle out of court anyway. We'll be praying!
