Children and Worship

I was asked to participate in Children and Worship at our church. I was more than willing to sign up as I had just been thinking that I need to do something to get more involved in the church and meet new people. It is amazing how God works!! Children and Worship is basically Sunday School but it runs at the same times as worship on Sunday mornings. So this morning was our Open House for the kids to sign up in their classes. I was able to go to the classroom and meet with the kids as they came in. I will be working with two other women in this classroom. One of them I went to school with and the other is her sister. They had this age group last year so things should go pretty smoothly. It looks like we will have around 8-10 1st graders for the year. We have split up the first half of the years schedule so that we each will take a block of Sunday's to lead. This way no one is committed to every Sunday morning which can be comberson. The church is very organized with their Children and Worship and that impressed me. I am attending a Children and Worship Training this Friday from 3:30-9:30 and Saturday from 8-4:30. It should be a fun year and I am very excited for the new adventure.

Sounds fun! Good for you, trying something new. I'd be curious to hear from you different things about your program - like what sort of things work, what kind of curriculum you use, etc. - because Luke is moving into Children and Worship now at our church too, and I don't know much about it!
