AFI and NST

Yesterday I went to St. Mary's Hospital to have my fluid check and nonstress stress done. I first checked in at Radiology where I was called back to the ultrasound room. This part of the process was very quick. I was only in the ultrasound for about 10 minutes. The fluid levels were good at 15.7 and normal is 10-20. I then went up to the 9th floor to labor and delivery for the NST. This was a little weird since I have not been up there since Cecelia was born. I was taken back to triage where they have two curtains set up for NST. It was actually a pretty nice set up with a recliner and a tv to watch. The nurses hooked up the two monitors on my stomach, one to read the baby's heartbeat and one to check for any contractions. Then I just sat there and watched tv. The first time the nurse came back she said that the baby was not as active as they would like and gave it a little wake up call with this little vibrating machine they have. The next time she came in the baby had done what they wanted and said it all looked good and I was free to go. My appointment for the AFI was at 11am and I was back to my car at 12:15. So not to long of an appointment. Next week I go to the Maternal-Fetal Specialist on Thursday for an ultrasound to measure the baby, check fluids and do another NST. Then Friday is an appointment with my regular ob.

So until then have a Happy Thanksgiving.
