Morning Report

Trey again went up to see Eloise this morning and get the 9am report from the doctor. He was also able to feed and change her. She fed really well again. They reported that she is going very good. Her bilirubin is down to 8 from 10 so they will continue the light therapy. She has only had one episode of apnea which is very good and will continue her on caffeine. Her feedings will increase from 3cc to 6ccs every three hours with a goal of giving her 9ccs at 9pm tonight and possible starting her on a bottle tomorrow. The doctor also said that wanted her UA line out today. He stated that it is a possible site for infection and doesn't want to only anything to compromise any of the progress she is making. She the tasks for the nurses today is to get an IV in her. This also means that we get to hold her:)

I will be heading up to see her this afternoon and Trey will return after to work to visit with her. We are very encouraged by her progress and hope to have her home soon.

For those that we wondering we did find out after delivery that the placenta that was supplying nutrients to Eloise was half the size of a normal placenta. We are assuming that this was the reason for her lack of growth. The placenta was sent to pathology and we will want on those results to see if there was anything else wrong with it. Hopefully it was just too small and this was due to some unknown reason.
